Wherever takes Backlight's custom, perfectly uniform light panels off the grid. Powered over 5V USB from a portable power bank, the panels need no fixed electrical connection, which makes architectural-quality illuminated surfaces possible in places where running a circuit is impractical or not allowed: temporary installations, events, pop-up retail and furniture that has to move. The manufacturer presents Wherever as a way of running its established panel systems, including Magic Cloud, Flush, Halo, Pill, Ghost and Slimby, from a power bank. Panels are made to measure, from a minimum of 100 × 15 mm up to 3048 × 2000 mm, with section depths of 9.5 to 35 mm, so they can be built into tables, bar counters, plinths, display cases and freestanding sculptural forms. Light quality matches the rest of the Backlight range, with CRI 95 and 3-step MacAdam colour consistency from panel to panel. Colour temperatures of 2700K, 3000K and 4000K are listed. Standard bright versions draw 15W and deliver 1728 lm per metre; high bright versions draw 30W and deliver 3456 lm per metre. Run time depends on load: Backlight's rule of thumb is 212.5 divided by the wattage for hours of autonomy, using a power bank of at least 50,000 mAh, and recommends keeping each LED length under 3 m for around five hours of use. Output drops on larger panels. The standard rating is IP40, with IP54 available on request, so exposed outdoor use should be reviewed with the manufacturer.
