Wetty

Wetty brings Backlight's uniform, edge-to-edge light to wet and exterior locations. Each luminaire is a slim illuminated bar, manufactured to the length the project requires, that can run along a facade, frame an opening or line a shower ceiling with a calm, continuous band of diffused light rather than a row of visible points. The system is offered in three standard widths of 76.2 mm, 101.6 mm and 152.4 mm (3, 4 and 6 in), with custom lengths from 304.8 mm to 3048 mm (12 to 120 in) and a constant 44.5 mm (1.75 in) profile depth. A slender aluminium frame of 1.5 mm surrounds the light field, and where bars are installed in sequence the visible joint between panels is just 4 mm, allowing longer runs to read as a single line. The manufacturer rates the assembly IP65 for wet locations and IK10 for impact resistance. Wetty can be installed on walls or ceilings, surface-mounted or recessed, using screws or Backlight's Fastmount concealed mounting system; steel-cord suspension and uplight configurations are also listed on the datasheet. Backlight reviews each order and may advise if a panel's dimensions do not suit the mounting system selected. Feed is from the rear, with male and female connectors and 2000 mm (80 in) extension cables. Colour quality is consistent with the rest of the Backlight range, with CRI above 95. Static white is offered from 2000K to 5000K, with two tunable white ranges (1800–3200K and 2400–4100K) and RGB; RGBW and RGBTW are available on the 76.2 mm width on request, subject to a minimum order quantity. Standard and high output versions deliver 890 or 1780 lm per metre of length. Wetty operates at 24V DC from a remote Class 2 power supply and can be dimmed by 0–10V, DALI, DMX, ELV/MLV or Lutron controls, giving a specifier the same control vocabulary indoors and out.
