MAGIC CLOUD

Magic Cloud is Backlight's signature architectural lighting system, transforming walls, ceilings and other surfaces into expansive fields of beautifully uniform light. Custom-manufactured in Italy, each panel is engineered to suit the dimensions and geometry of the project, allowing architects and designers to create luminous surfaces that feel entirely integrated into the surrounding architecture. Unlike conventional LED backlighting assemblies requiring considerable installation depth, Magic Cloud achieves uniform illumination within a remarkably shallow profile. Its edge-lit construction delivers continuous, diffused light across rectangular, geometric and custom-shaped panels, with high colour fidelity exceeding CRI 95. Large architectural compositions can be developed using multiple panels, while a choice of colour temperatures, tunable white, dim-to-warm and colour-changing options provides considerable design flexibility. A distinctive advantage is the optional Fastmount concealed panel mounting system. Precision-engineered interlocking clips allow Magic Cloud panels to be securely installed without visible fasteners, with surface-mounted and recessed configurations available. Panels can be removed and reinstalled for access and maintenance, making the system particularly valuable in refined architectural interiors where appearance, serviceability and long-term performance are equally important. Mounting methods and permissible panel dimensions are selected according to the installation. Magic Cloud also functions as a sophisticated backlighting platform for translucent architectural materials, including natural stone, resin, decorative glass and perforated metal. Custom surface printing, geometric fabrication and optional profile finishes extend its creative possibilities, from subtle illuminated details to expansive luminous installations. Operating at 24V DC with remote power supplies, Magic Cloud supports multiple architectural lighting control systems, including 0–10V, DALI, DMX and compatible Lutron solutions.
