HALO

Halo is a made-to-measure frame of light for perimeter lighting. Where conventional assemblies are built from separate linear pieces with visible joints at the corners, each Halo is produced as a single custom piece, so the line of light remains continuous and uniform around the whole outline. It is custom-manufactured in Italy by Backlight. Frames are available as rectangles, squares, circles and triangles, or in bespoke shapes from CAD drawings, with the short side from 203.2 mm to 2006.6 mm, the long side up to 3048 mm and circles up to 2006.6 mm in diameter. The width of the light band ranges from 15.24 mm to 203.2 mm (up to 152.4 mm on ceilings), so a frame can be a fine outline or a broad luminous border. Halo recesses into walls and ceilings on magnets and a supplied iron plate, at a depth of 22 mm for standard output or 28 mm for high output, or rests on an existing surface as an uplight. A dedicated behind-the-mirror detail places the frame in a recess behind the glass, with light passing through an area where the mirror coating has been removed, creating an illuminated mirror without a surface-mounted fixture. Elevator cabs, vanities, dressing rooms and ceiling features are typical settings. Standard output runs at 14 W/m of perimeter and delivers 980 lm/m; high output runs at 28 W/m and delivers 1960 lm/m, both with CRI above 95. Halo operates at 24V DC from remote Class 2 power supplies and dims via 0–10V, DALI, DMX, ELV/MLV and Lutron systems. Colour temperatures span 2700K to 5000K, with dim-to-warm, tunable white and RGB; other colour temperatures, RGBW and RGBTW are available on request. The aluminium profile is white RAL 9010 as standard, and the diffuser can be UV-printed with a custom image.
