Coppibartali reimagines the traditional chandelier as a flexible architectural lighting system. Designed by Mario Nanni for Viabizzuno, it combines illuminated glass cylinders with a patented articulated chain mechanism, allowing light to take on forms that conventional suspended fixtures cannot achieve. Inspired by the mechanical flexibility of a bicycle chain, the system allows individual glass elements to follow straight lines, circles, flowing curves and intricate custom geometries. From a refined linear pendant above a dining table to a large-scale luminous sculpture suspended through an atrium, Coppibartali can be composed around the architecture. Each internally ribbed glass cylinder creates a distinctive luminous presence, complemented by refined brass-finished connections. The repetition of illuminated elements gives the system its character, combining precise modular construction with the visual elegance of a continuous sculptural composition. Standard linear and circular configurations are available in three sizes, while bespoke installations can incorporate custom dimensions, shapes and suspension arrangements. This flexibility makes Coppibartali particularly compelling for projects where decorative lighting becomes an integral part of the architectural identity. Equipped with high-colour-rendering LED sources at 2700K, Coppibartali offers warm architectural illumination with CRI98 colour quality. The 48V DC suspension system supports remote power supplies and compatible dimming controls, allowing the installation to be integrated into the project's lighting design.
